Mr. Ross,
Your building permit application dated 6-16-14 and plans dated 6-16-14 have been approved as drawn, noted, and per this memo. All work must meet all applicable codes whether noted or
not included within this memo.
Please follow up on the following items:
These items will need to be accomplished as the project moves forward and before rough inspections;
All structural members must be sized to carry the appropriate loading.
All structural members must have a continuous load path to appropriate bearing.
The allowable bearing capacity of the soil without testing is 2000 lbs. per sqft supports must be sized accordingly.
All plan changes must be documented and provided to the building department.
Braced wall systems must meet the prescriptive code or be engineered.
Braced wall section must be inspected before being covered.
Any hazardous window locations require tempered glazing.
Continuous one hour fire separation is required to separate the units, separation must continue into wall, floor and ceiling cavities or be otherwise accomplished.
Complete independent smoke/CO systems must be up to current code.
All electric circuits must be separated and in individual panel accessible to the unit owner/tenant.
All supporting wood framing must have a rating equal or greater than the rated structure it supports.
As of August 4th 2011 the 8th Edition MA code is the 2009 IRC with MA amendments.
In the following are some generic requirements which seem to be problematic.

The current relevant building codes are:
2009 IBC, 2009 IEBC, 2009 IMC, 2009 IRC, 2009 or 2012 IECC, AA115, MA amendments.
