Hi Louis,
Forgot to send the occupancy. Per the code, there can be a maximum of 187 occupants, however,
as noted below the actual occupancy would likely be less than 100. Please let me know if you need
anything else.
OCCUPANCY LOAD: Per table 1004.1.1 Assembly areas with concentrated chairs shall have a
maximum occupancy of 7Net SF per person. This would allow for a maximum of 187 occupants
within this space. The reality is that a significant portion of the space is “backstage” and “stage”
space. The maximum audience space seating will allow for 76 seats, see floor plan for seating
layout. The maximum production staff in this space will likely be no more than 20, for a total real
occupancy of 96 during a production. This space will mostly be used for theater classes with a
much smaller occupancy.
Thank you,

Dear Louis,
Thank you for meeting me at Northampton High School tonight to review the Black Box Theater. As
discussed the 8’ light fixture near the entry will be reduced to a 4’ fixture to give the adjacent
sprinkler head sufficient clearance. Please find attached my letter of substantial completion. Thank
you again for your assistance with this project, I hope that you get to enjoy a performance there
sometime soon!
