Meeting Notes
Project: CheckWriters (Gaiwith Hall)
Date: March 6, 2018
Location: 46 Round Hill Rd Northampton, MA
Current Construction Status:
• Structural improvements continue. All remaining designed steel is on-site. Installation complete waiting on answers for completion.
• Steel framing is nearly complete in the North wing.
• Wood framing and demolition continue.
• Seismic reinforcing clips are being installed. Waiting on design update.
• M.J. Moran is working on the HVAC design.
Current Items:
• Crocker to provide a preliminary construction schedule. 3/6/18.
• Exterior wall finishes will need to be clarified and a determination made on the window trim details 3/6/18.
• Will cable trays be used for data wiring? Explore options for floor access trays for
power and data in open cubicle areas. 3/6/18.
• The Building Dept. will need fire suppression drawings and a Fire Protection Narrative prior to the issuance of the Building Permit. 3/6/18.
• MJ Moran will provide the opening dimensions necessary for the ductwork
crossing from the basement into the new addition space. 3/6/18.
• Crocker to send site plan information to MJ Moran. 3/6/18.
• Crocker to coordinate a floor elevation survey of the existing building. 3/6/18.
Open Items:
• GNCB will require the weight and size of the rooftop AHU to determine the
reinforcing if necessary. This is detailed in their field report. 2/13/18. A further
discussion with GNCB took place on 2/27. Open items include: the seismic anchors not holding in the brick walls, roof top HVAC unit feasibility, and
basement wall penetrations for the HVAC ductwork. 2/27/18. Open 3/6/18.
• A review of the existing underground sewer piping will be required to determine
the best course for the new plumbing layout. 2/27/18. MJ Moran to coordinate a survey with Fletcher sewer. 3/6/18.
• What will be done with the existing sewer pump and tank in the former boiler
room? 2/27/18. Item Closed tank to remain as is per Jim Hebert.
• Review the ground mounted condenser pad location. 2/27/18. 3/6/18.
• A complete updated Structural drawing is schedule for completion on 2/23/18,
2/27/18. No new set to be issued we are instructed to use the current set. 3/6/18.
• Rebidding of the project will begin after the completion of the Structural drawings and updated finish information. 2/20/18, 2/27/18. Rebidding on hold pending updated finishes and wall types. Open 3/6/18.
• Review the dumpster surround and access to the loading dock. 2/20/18, 2/27/18.
• Request from CheckWriters production area and IT room equipment loads to all proper sizing of the cooling in these areas 2/20/18, Open 3/6/18
• Exterior ADA ramp to remain at the former front entry. The rails will be reviewed
for compliance. 1/30/18, 2/13/18, 2/27/18. Closed Item 3.7/18 Existing to remain
as is.
• Max Hebert will check with the backup generator supplier for serviceability of the
existing unit. 1/30/18, 2/13/18, 2/27/18, 3/6/18.
• A discussion of a food prep / Break room area was included in the meeting. Review exhaust hood/ range requirements with Fire Alarm and Sprinkler contractors 2/13/18, 2/20/18, 2/27/18, 3/6/18.
• Building Management, HVAC thermostat controls, Additional zoning was
discussed and will be reviewed again after completion of the HVAC design
drawings. 2/13/182/27/18, 3/6/18. Owner / Contractor Items:
• Contract remains open pending a legal review. Open 2/6/18, 2/13/18, 2/20/18, 2/27/18. A mark up copy was provided to Crocker 3/5/18. Crocker returned a
counter draft on 3/7/18 for review.
• Phillips Insurance has requested from Crocker a copy of the Contract and proof of
financing. 3/1/18, 3/6/18.
