Where areas are within greenways or larger conservation groupings, the overall area should be listed in front of the specific title (e.g., Meadows Conservation Area, Montview Section). Signs at trailheads where applicable; facing the nearest roadway in a central location if the area has no trails. USE: FSC-certified Ipe, OR local black locust, 48 inches in length, nominal 6 inches high/actual 5.4 inches high, and 1 inch nominal/0.75 inch actual deep, with two coats Brazilian Hardwood Oil finish. Signs should be sanded prior to application of finish. Letters are 2.75 inches high, routed 1/16 inch deep, with a ¼ inch thickness. Fonts do not include serifs. Letters are painted off-white with pigmented encaustic epoxy. Signs must also include a 3.5 inch diameter circle, routed to a depth of 1/16 inch following the sign name, for placement of a wood, plastic or steel logo to be provided by the Commission. Signs are installed on 8 foot lengths of pressure treated “4x4,” painted brown, set four feet into the ground and firmly backfilled. Sign posts are set 3 feet six inches measured on center. Signs are installed 4 inches from the top of the posts. Signs are rear-mounted, with no hardware installed through the face of the sign.
