Swiconek 65 Mill Street Glastonbury, Conn. 06033 Dear Ms. Swiconek and Mr. Swiconek: On September 12, 1979, a letter was sent requesting that the porch and chimneys at 18 Michelman Avenue, Northampton, Ma. , be repaired. A carpenter did do some work on the rear porch on September 26, 1979. However, since that time, nothing has been done to the chimneys. As was previously mentioned, the chimneys on the level above the roof level were falling, and a definite danger does exist. Nothing has been done to correct this problem. In accordance with Sections 104.1 and 104.2 of the Massachusetts State Building Code, I in ordering that you make repairs or remove these dangers immediately. At present you are in violation of the prementioned State Code and sections. Please do not hesitate to call this office if I may be of any assis- tance, or if you have any questions. The following conditions were observed: The chimneys on the level above the roof level were falling, and a definite danger does exist. The back porch and second balcony are falling, and are also dangerous. In my opinion, the chimneys should either be repaired or removed, and the rear balcony which is on the way to collapsing, be moved or repaired also. This should be done as soon as possible. In the meantime, it might be advisable to board off the rear porch area to prevent anyone from mounting the porch and falling through, or having something fall on them. I am requesting that these conditions be corrected within five (5) days upon receiving this letter. If I may be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to call.
