On November 16, 1979, in response to a complaint, a representative
of the Northampton Board of Health inspected the exterior of your
property at 63 Market Street, Northampton. (Assessor Map 32A, Lot 48.)
The inspection revealed many serious housing code violations which are
listed in the attached violation notice. The seriousness of these
violations lead the Board of Health to believe that structural violations
may exist, in the interior of the dwelling, which could impair the health
and safety of the occupants. Therefore it is necessary for an inspection
to be made of the interior of the dwelling.
You are hereby requested to make arrangements for an inspection
of the interior of your dwelling at 63 Market Street, including the
occupied apartment and all common areas. Please contact the Board of
Health Office to set up an appointment.

The Board of Health has reinspected 63 Market Street, many times in
the last five (5) months and has found no improvement. Because of the
numerous housing code violations, as listed on the notice dated November
19, 1979, you were given an extsntion of time to correct the violations.
This extention has proven fruitless.
You are hereby ordered under authority of Chapter 111, Section of
the General Sava of the Commonwealth, to begin correcting the Housing
Code violations immediately.
Failure to complete the necessary repairs within fourteen (14) days
from the receipt of this notice will result in further action being taken
against you.

Remedies and Penalties
Part of the Inspection Report contains a brief summary of some
legal remedies tenants may use in order to get Housing Code violations
corrected. Failure to comply with this order also subjects the person
ordered to a criminal fine of not less than ten ($10. 00) dollars, nor
more than five hundred ($500) dollars for each day' s failure to comply
with this order.
