Based on the size (kW) and installation date of that generator, in addition to increasing the stack height(as to not cause a nuisance),the only other thing they should do is document how much fuel they use each month and how many hours the generator is operated each month. This would take them beyond what is required for a emergency generator of that size, but it also helps document that the generator is only used in the case of emergencies. I was able to tell him that you have a 15 kw generator but he would also like to know when it was installed. He took an interest in your situation and promised to check for state regulations that might apply to your generator. I took some pictures of the installation which I will send him when I get the date from you. In the meantime please look up any relevant information you can find about the operation of diesel generators residential areas(Heather this is the WHMP complaint). I'll forward you an email descrbing the issue and we have a iestion posed to us from the owner of the generator(WHMP,Sean O'Mealy general manager) if what they are doing is (it is an emergency back-up generator that they supposedly run once/month). tanks.
