SUBJECT: Re: possible faulty wood stove installation—205 Nonotuck St.
210 MAIN STREET
NORTHAMPTON,MA 01060
In response to a call from the Northampton Fire Department I inspected a dwelling at 205
Nonotuck Street,Florence. As is indicated in the attached copy of the violation notice, I
found 40+cats and 5 dogs and a few caged birds. There were animal droppings throughout
the dwelling and a very strong odor.
From a sanitary code standpoint,I've issued orders to cleanup the dwelling but I wasn't sure
about the status of the wood stove in the living room. Improper use of that stove was the
reason that the fire department was originally called. There were concerns about the
installation of the stove.
Therefore I am requesting that you take a look at that wood stove to make sure that the
installation is proper.
Please contact me with any questions.
Thank you.
