This letter will certify that the inspections revealed violations, listed below, which are serious enough as to endanger or materially impair the health, safety, and well-being of the occupants. Under authority of Chapter 111, Section 127 of the Mass. General Laws, and Chapter II of The State Sanitary Code, you are hereby ordered to make a good faith effort to correct the following violations within twenty-four (24) hours from the date of receipt of this order. VIOLATION Interior room temperatures in the apartment of Mr. & Mrs. Knowlton do not meet minimum code requirements at this time kitchen - (4°F downstairs den - EE°F - E6°F downstairs bedroom (L) downstairs bedroom (") 610.,^* *haseboard heater off at this time Readings were made on 1/15/R6 be- tween 9:20 and 9:40 a.m. REGULATION 410.200 & 410.201 REMEDY Since tenants do not have a separate thermostat to control their own heat, arrangements must be made to insure adenuate heat is provided at all times to their apartment. If this cannot he accom- plished , each apartment will have to be provided with a separate thermo- stat to control heat individually. Heating, Requirements: 1 . Heating facilities for every habitable room must he adenuate and maintained in good onerating condition.2. (a) Petween 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. , temperature must he 6 9°F minimum. (b) Between 11:01 p.m. and E:5° a.m., temperature must he 64 1/2 F minimum. (c) Portable space heaters, kerosene heaters, and similar type heaters shall not be used and shall not meet code requirements as approved heating facilities.
