In a letter dated September 30,2010,the Department of Environmental Protection(DEP) granted a
Beneficial Used Determination(BWP SW 40)for the City of Northampton Department of Public
Works(DPW to use DrinkinjWater Treatment Plant Residuals(DWTPR)generated at the
Mountain Street Water Treatment Facility as Alternative Daily Cover material at Massachusetts

form, of locations, amounts and use(daily cover and/or disposal)of all DWTPR shipped to solid
waste facilities in Massachusetts."This correspondence provides the annual summary for 2014.
In calendar year 2014,Drinking Water Treatment Plant Residuals were removed from the lagoons
located at the treatment plant during September 2014. A total of 133.82 tons of DWTPR were
hauled to the Chicopee Landfill for use as Alternative Daily Cover.
A tabular summary of the Northampton WWTPR managed in 2014 is presented below.

This report was originally submitted to your office in a letter dated January 16,2015. The City
was notified via email on January 30,2015 by Mr. Charles Clines of the DEP Western Regional
Office that the report was lacking a Certification Statement pursuant to 310 CMR 19.011, and he
requested that the report be resubmitted.The required statement has been added to the report.
In a letter dated September 30,2010,the Department of Environmental Protection(DEP) granted a
