Wetland status of lot 44-12 (Marilyn and Diane Ewing)
DATE: May 15 , 1989
The Conservation Commission conducted a site visit last week
to 982 Florence Road, owned by Edwin and Janet Larsen (Map 44,
Parcel 111) . The house on that lot was build without obtaining a
permit from the Conservation Commission, although much of the lot
is in a wetland or wetland buffer area.
Much of the soil in the Larsen' s back yard appears to be
hydric soils, which indicates that much of the site is a wetland.
It is likely that these hydric soils extend to part of the
neighboring cropland on Florence Road (lot 44-12 , now or formally
owned by Marilyn and Diane Ewing) . Wetland plants are not present
on the cropland because the field has been tilled.
During our site visit, Mr. Larsen mentioned that part of the
neighboring cropland was recently tested for suitability for on-
site sewage disposal. If any of that farmland is developed, it
will require either an order of conditions (permit) or
determination of applicability from the Conservation Commission.
The owners of that land should be notified that they will need
a permit from the Commission should they apply for any other city
permits. Please enter this memo into the appropriate file.
