Dear Mr. Mathieu:
On behalf of our client, Mr. Kenneth Patel, Huntley Associates, P.C. (HAPC) respectfully
request the following: We seek permission to complete unofficial percolation tests and test pits
at 944 North King Street for the purposes of completing an initial On-Site Sanitary Sewage
Design and tentative approval from the Board of Health (BOH) to obtain a Building Permit.
The percolation tests and test pits and system design would be completed in accordance with
310 CMR 15.000 Title V regulations, but would also be completed during a period of time
beyond the City of Northampton normal testing season. As described above, the unofficial
peres would be used to prepare a septic system design with tentative approval for purpose of
obtaining a building permit in order to construct a new residential dwelling as soon as possible.
Our client is willing to complete a set of percs and test pits now(within week or so) and design
a system based on satisfactory unofficial results, and complete an additional set of official
percs and test pits (BOH observed) Spring 2005 and modify the design if necessary, and then
proceed with system construction after additional approval of Septic Design / Plan (if any) in
2005. The pert test and test pits are of course one part of many issues that need to be adressed
as part of the Building Permit Application process, but one that is very time sensitive.
