38B-002 (12) II arron,&Jalcobs November 15, 1989 Mr. Bruce Palmer Building Inspector City of Northampton 212 Main Street Northampton, MA 01060 Dear Mr. Palmer, Enclosed please find request for building permit: SCOPE ''OF PROJECT This addition will serve as a connector between the existing barn and the existing indoor riding ring. The existing facilities do not have ladies' and mens' rest rooms, laundry facilities for cleaning horse blankets, (washer & dryer) , indoor horse wash stall and the existing apartment is inadequate for the night security person. Within this project we will be removing the ''existing apartment. The new addition will eliminate these problems and replace eleven deteriorated existing horse stalls and provide access to and from the existing facilities without going ',outdoors. We will be expanding the simplex fire alarm system into the new addition. The apartment and the first floor office space will have two hour fire rated walls separating them from the new addition space. Enclosed please find two sets of stamped blueprints. Paul Koslowski, the Construction Manager for the Physical Plant Department at Smith College has requested that one set be initialed by you for his file. Enclosed please find maps supplied to me by Mr. Wayne E. Feiden, Planner for the Office for Planning and Development for the city of Northampton, Also enclosed please find section 5. 3, page 5-17, supplied by you and Mr. Smith, which we are in', compliance with.
