The S-5-U and S-5-U Mini clamps are each furnished with the hardware shown above. Each
box also includes a bit tip for tightening setscrews using an electric screw gun. A structural
aluminum attachment clamp, the S-5-U is compatible with most common metal roofing materials
excluding copper. All included hardware is stainless steel. Please visit www.S-5.com for more
information including CAD details, metallurgical compatibilities and specifications.

products and other heavy-duty applications.
Installation is as simple as placing the clamp on the seam and tightening the
patented round-point setscrews to the specified tension. Then, affix ancillary
items using the bolt provided. Go to www.S-S.com/tools for information and
tools available for properly attaching and tensioning S-S!TM clamps.

The S-5-U Mini is a medium-duty, non-penetrating seam
clamp. (A bit shorter than the S-S-U and having one
setscrew rather than two.) The Mini is the choice for attaching
all kinds of rooftop accessories: signs, walkways, satellite
dishes, antennas, rooftop lighting, lightning protection systems,
solar arrays, exhaust stack bracing, conduit, condensate lines,
mechanical equipment—just about anything!*
*S-5!TM Mini clamps can be used with RamGard®unitized snow guards, but are not compatible and should
not be used with S-5!TM SnoRailTK/SnoFenceTm or ColorGard® snow retention systems.

Re: Engineer Statement for Grey Residence, 483 Park Hill Rd., Florence, MA
- Solar Roof Mount Installation
I have verified the adequacy and structural integrity of the existing Main Roof I(standing
seam): 2" r x 4"wood truss 24" c-c with roof slope distance 19'-10";pitch 29 deg.; for
mounting of solar panels and their installation will satisfy the structural roof framing
design-loading requirements of the Massachusetts building code—780 CMR Residential
Code 8th Ed.
For the installation of the solar mounting.the Unirac Solarmount rails with securely
fastened with S-5! U-Clamp at 32" or every other seam. The mounting system has been
designed for wind speed criteria of 90 mph Exp. C and ground snow criteria of 40 psf.
Wind loads will exceed seismic loads. Other climate and geo design criteria are not
applicable to this solar installation. The design will meet or exceed load requirements
from the MA 780 Residential Code. The roof structure is adequate to support self-weight
of roof, PV panels (weight distribution < 2.7 psf) and wind or snow loading conditions.
The solar system and the mounting assemblies will comply with the applicable sections
of the MA 780 Code and loading requirements of roof-mounted collectors.
Thereby, I endorse the solar panel installation and certify-this design to be structurally
adequate.
