We request your acknowledgment of the Buyer's plan for securing the subject
Certificate of Compliance under M.G.L. Chapter 148, § 26E, 26F and 26F1/2 upon issuance
of the Certificate of Occupancy when the anticipated renovation work is completed.

Dear Chief Nichols:
I am writing to you regarding the timing for the issuance of a Certificate of
Compliance under M.G.L. Chapter 148, § 26E, 26F and 26171/2 for the above-referenced
property.
The subject premises located at 35 Forbes Avenue in Northampton is not presently
occupied. Upon purchase by Christian Hawkins on or about June 29,2015,the premises will
be substantially renovated. No one will live in the subject premises until the renovations are
completed and a Certificate of Occupancy is issued by the Building Department of the City
of Northampton. As a prerequisite to securing the Certificate of Occupancy,the Buyer will
upgrade the smoke and carbon monoxide detection devices so as to be in full compliance
with all current requirements under Chapter 148, § 26E, 26F and 26171/2 .
The Buyer assumes full responsibility for securing the subject Compliance Certificate
and agrees to indemnify the Seller relative to his not securing the subject Certificate for the
sale of the 35 Forbes Avenue property.
