Existing steps(see picture below) are in poor condition and handrails are needed.Thus the existing step
will be removed and new steps installed with handrails. Sketches prepared by the contractor(Tom
Dolan) are included.To the extent possible,the new front stairs will be similar to the existing back stairs
on the property(see picture below). The property is located within the Northampton Elm Street Historic
District.
We are requesting a "certificate of non-applicability" be issued with regard to the repair to the front
steps at 292 Elm Street.
