We have completed structural analysis calculations for Greenroom
model GR-1102-GG using a heavyweight glazing bar and present our results
in this report. In analyzing the frame we have used a material dead load
of 5.5 pounds per square foot (PSF) , a frame spacing of 38 inches and
material properties equivalent to that of 6061-T6 aluminum which we under-
stand is similar to the actual material which is 6105-T5.
Our analysis indicates that the Greenroom model GR-1102-GG with the
heavyweight glazing bar has a live load capacity of 64 PSF based on the
maximum allowable stress. This live load capacity exceeds 50 PSF which we
understand is the local requirement.

Per your request, we have completed the Structural Design Calculations
for }-car Greenroom Model GR-1103-GG. The structure was analyzed subject
to snow, wind and dead loads, in accordance with the requirements of the
Basic Building Code.
This Greenroom model is roughly 111 feet wide by 91 feet high and is
proposed to be constructed in the Burlington, Vermont area. The frame will
utilize your standard 2 7/8" x 2" extruded aluminum tubular section with
! kapered sides.
The results of our analyst.. show that the aluminum glazing bars spaced
at :38" on center, subjected to a.wind load of 20 pounds per .sgUare foot (PSF),
will have an allowable Live Load Capacity of 43 PSF. The Live Load Capacity
is the load that can safely be superimposed on the structure. This is greater
::fan the 36 PSF live load required for the Burlington, Vermont s°ea.

Live loads are calculated using a dead load of 5.33 psi and a
wind load of 20 psi. All calculations are done by registered
engineers with stamped reports for the larger units being
contained within this report.

The frame is 100% thermally broken by employing thermal
break fill material of Baydur 600 or equal.
The finish is electrostatically applied PPG baked Duracron Bronze
Enamel.
2. GLASS --- All glass is fully tempered safety glazing being
1/8" or thicker ai �i meets ANSI Z97-1-1975 SAFETY STANDARDS.
Glazing panels shall be factory assembled and double sealed to an
overall thickness of 7/8". Bent and curved units shall be
tempered over tempered to the above specification to resist
thermal shock. Optional glazings available are bronze tint,
bronze reflective, Low "E", and 1/4" laminated glass with an . 060
interlayer where local codes require.
3. GLAZING BLOCKS --- All glazing blocks are constructed from
70-90 durometer neoprene.
4. GASKETRY --- All gaskets are extruded 60-70 durometer
EDPM rubber. (ASTM D-2240)
5. FASTENERS --- All fasteners are to be concealed and made
from 300 series 18/8 stainless steel having a minimum diameter
equal to a 10-24 screw.

Sunplace line of Greenhouse/Solariums. We have created this
report specifically for your office in the hope that it will
satisfy your requirement for detail and yet be readable. We want
you to understand and have confidence in our structures.
There are three basic sections to this report.
Section A --- printed on this stationary is an OUTLINE
SPECIFICATION giving you load and safety
glazing criteria.
Section B --- contains two stamped letters from registered
structural engineers. You will note that
their approval is granted for structures
equal to or larger than the ones you are
considering and for loading requirements in
excess of your own.
Section C --- contains complete construction details, sizing,
and installation instructions for our units.
OUTLINE SPECIFICATION
1. STRUCTURE --- All structural frame supporting members
(glazing bars) are extruded from 6105-T5 alloy aluminum having an
allowable yield of 35, 000 psi. Two basic profiles exist and are
used to optimize live load capacity. The design data for each
glazing bar profile is listed below in Table 1. Other aluminum
parts are extruded from 6063-TG alloy.
