Additional wall signs for the Hyundai dealership and additional ground/directional sign at the side lot entrance serving Hyundai and
Volkswagen.
HARDSHIP:
CONDITION OF APPROVAL:
1) Illuminated wall signs shall be turned off no later than 1 hour after close of business and may be
turned on no sooner than one hour before the opening of business.
FINDINGS:
The Zoning Board granted the special permit request for the additional signage based upon the plans and application materials submitted
with the application:
1) Application submitted by Callihan Sign for the wall signs
2) Application submitted by Associated Builders, Inc for the ground sign (Welcome/Thank You) with both dealership names.
The Zoning Board granted the requests based on finding compliance with the following standards as required within the Zoning
Ordinance.
1. Signs are located only where they are otherwise permitted in the district; and
2. The architecture of the building, the location of the building or the land or nature of the use being made of the building or land is such
that additional signs or signs of a larger size would not detract from the character of the neighborhood and should be permitted in the
public interest. The building has a long and tall façade and the signs are spread out on the fascia and provide orientation to service.
Additionally the side lot access through the abutting parcel necessitates a directional sign for customers using the signal to access the
dealership.
(3) The exact sign permitted, the size and location of the sign or signs, are noted in the plan as follows:
Three additional signs for a total of 3 additional front wall signs and one additional ground/directional sign at the cross-easement
entrance on the southerly side lot boundary.
"Country" "Service" and Hyundai with Logo on the corner.
