Aelan Tierney opened the public hearing with the request for Amendment to a permit by Thomas
Douglas Architects granted for 60 Masonic St, Map Id 31D-122.
Tom Douglas, Architect, summarized the need for the amendment to bring the costs down. Douglas
presented a powerpoint on the changes and distributed updated plans to the Board.
He noted the windows would be recessed from the building.
Rick Klein asked if mullions would be as shown?
Douglas affirmed.
Aelan Tierney asked if the colors on this building would be similar to the existing and abutting structure.
Douglass indicated that some of the same colors would be used.
Rick Klein asked about the height of the parapet and the size of the roof deck?
Douglas stated it would be 3’ high and the deck would be small near the stairwell.
Tierney asked if the exterior were all EIFS (Extracting Edge-Flux-Intensity Functions)?
Douglass said yes.
Klein asked about the height of the garage overhang.
Douglas noted it was 9’.
Tierney asked if the steel would be the same color as the trim and where Hardiplank would be used.
Douglas stated that it would be a darker color and confirmed that the hardy plank would only be used

for the trim on the 3 floor fascia, otherwise the remainder would be stucco.
There was no public comment.
Upon motion by JB and second by Rick Klein, the board voted unanimously to close the hearing.
Upon motion by Bob Walker and second by Joe Blumenthal, the Committee voted unanimously to
approve the plans as amended for the hearing.
