sheet 1 NTH.1065 __X_ Recommended for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. If checked, you must attach a completed National Register Criteria Statement form. Use as much
space as necessary to complete the following entries, allowing text to flow onto additional continuation sheets. ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION: Describe architectural features. Evaluate
the characteristics of this building in terms of other buildings within the community. This is a two-and-half story Georgian style home with a slate side gabled roof. The clapboard sided
house is five bays wide and one bay deep. Characteristic of the Georgian style, the house sits on a low foundation, has a massive center chimney, and second story windows sit close to
the roof eaves. The front entrance has a tall trabeated surround and there is a four light transom transom in the door. Windows on the house have simple architrave surrounds and projecting
lintels. On the southern elevation of the home is a two-story rear ell, followed by a one-and-a-half story rear addition. The property also includes a two bay garage with double leaf
doors. HISTORICAL NARRATIVE Discuss the history of the building. Explain its associations with local (or state) history. Include uses of the building, and the role(s) the owners/occupants
played within the community. From Form B of 1976: “This early residence is located on South Street and is one of a series of colonial homesteads lining the road. Close to a dozen residences
dating from the 18th century remain on South Street, one cluster atop Fort Hill and others sited along South Street.” BIBLIOGRAPHY and/or REFERENCES Beers, F. W. County Atlas of Hampshire
