the characteristics of this building in terms of other buildings within the community. The Huxley House is a two-and-a-half story house under a front-gable roof, which is the most common
house form on North Maple Street. It is three bays wide and has a cross-gable wing on the north and a two-story ell on the west. In the angle between the wing and the ell is a one-story
addition. The house has large proportions and crossing its east façade is a full-width, Queen Queen Anne style porch with posts supporting the hipped roof and with scroll-cut brackets
at the eaves. The porch railings have square balusters. Window sash in the house is 2/2. HISTORICAL NARRATIVE Discuss the history of the building. Explain its associations with local
(or state) history. Include uses of the building, and the role(s) the owners/occupants played within the community. From Form B of 1980: “In 1882, Annie and Dwight Huxley bought half
an acre of land fronting on North Maple Street for $350. The house was not immediately built and does not appear on the 1884 atlas. However, by 1890, the Huxleys are listed here in the
