License Commission
City Hall, 210 Main Street
Northampton, MA 01060
Mr. Chairman:
I am writing you in regard to the license commission hearing of June 4, 2008. Item four
on the agenda, Application for a short term wine and malt license, Funtastic Venture,
LTD d/b /a Universal Kids, Inc. I find your decision in this matter just short of
outrageous. This applicant is looking to enter into the night club business one day a week
or so? This matter needs to be advertised, and discussed in an open meeting. This was a
last minute item on the agenda and it ran through with little or no discussion. I must
strongly object to the manner in which this was handled.
I would strongly advise this commission to check with the ABCC regarding the issuance
of these short term license applications and determine if they are in fact legal, before you
give them out like candy. I don't mean to seem harsh, but when you look at such a
request, it amounts to a seasonal license of a kind. We need 30. Wow, this just isn't 2
right.

Your kind attention in this matter would be greatly appreciated. t °vu / +iN
