Dear Louis,
We respectfully request waiver for the requirement for control construction on the project
listed above.
The scope of work is replacing kitchenettes in the existing kitchenette locations in each of the
(3) three dorms. All ofthe students in these dorms go to another site on campus for their
regular meals. These kitchenettes are for incidental use, le making tea, popcorn etc. The other
scope of work included in this project is installation of a fire separation drywall ceiling above a
dropped grid ceiling in what is referred to as the Jordan Dining Rm which is now used as a study
/social area.
The work is of a minor nature, will not lessen health, accessibility, life and fire safety, or
structural requirements and is impractical in that the cost of control construction is considerable
when compared to the cost ofthe proposed work.
