Please find enclosed another Zoning Permit Application for the currently distressed and vacant
property located at 285 Prospect Street in Northampton. I have an agreement to purchase this
property and would like to renovate it for residential use consistent with the zoning code that
applies in that location.
I submitted another application recently, File No. MPl 129, which was approved. However, we
now have further thoughts on what we would like to do, thus this new application.
As in the previous approved application, in this proposal, the front (Prospect St.) paved parking
spaces would remain. The dirt/gravel driveway that goes through the rear would be replaced with
a grass yard.
Plan 1: Renovate existing structures, build a second story on section B in the attached building
sketch (front part), and build a second story on section C in the attached building sketch (the
small building, former restaurant), to make a single residence for personal use.
Plan 2: Same as Plan 1, but to make two residential units, one in each building.
