The reason you are receiving this letter is that the cities assessors data indicates that you own
property at 236 SOUTH ST which contain multiple dwelling units that may have a fire escape,
egress balcony, or wooden exit stairway. As the owner of such property you are obligated by law,
780 CMR State Building Code, to submit to the cities building official a affidavit that certifies the
structural adequacy and safety of these structures.
Please respond within 30 days upon receipt of this letter for a inspection for compliance with the
building code.
