Email on Kennsington Estates (to Planning Board 8/31/2011) Wayne Feiden From:MLaBargeWard6@aol.com Sent:Tuesday, August 30, 2011 6:47 PM To:Wayne Feiden Subject:Fwd: Kensington Estate issue Wayne, Could you please pass this email to the Planning Board members. I really do appreciate this. Sincerely; City Councilor; Marianne LaBarge Ward 6 From: holtmb@hotmail.com To: mlabargeward6@aol.com Sent: 8/30/2011 12:49:57 P.M. Central Daylight Time Subj: Kensington Estate issue Dear Marianne, my name is Brigitte Holt, I live at 126 Glendale Road (the old farm house directly across Gerry and Marcia). I am writing concerning the planned development across the street from me. I was out of town for the rescheduled one on June and will be out of the country for two months starting September 5th, so will unfortunately also miss the September 8th hearing. I am very concerned about the amount of traffic this development will cause, but also about the lights that will shine directly into my living room each time a car comes out of the new driveway. I spoke with the developer this summer, and really felt very little understanding on his part. When I brought up the issue, he replied in a very dismissive manner "that will only be a problem if the cars turn left". There are two problems with this: first, most cars will in fact do just that to go to Northampton; second, any car coming down the driveway will in fact shine its light straight into my living room, whether they turn left or right. The idea solution would of course be that this ridiculous development not be built at all, but I am not hopeful this will be the case. If the approval is given for the development to take place, then a barrier of large evergreens (arbor vitae) should be planted in front of my property to provide essential protection, at the expense of the developer. Given that I cannot attend this hearing, I wanted to voice this request to you, as my City Council representative. I very much appreciate your attention in this matter. Thank you.
