Memo from School Dept on Bus Stop Carolyn Misch From:Joy Winnie Sent:Thursday, June 02, 2011 11:25 AM To:Carolyn Misch Subject:RE: Proposed school bus shelter Hi Carolyn, I reviewed the map you sent me. I would ask that the developer place the school bus shelter on the Glendale Road side. The placement will allow me to service the residents with full size buses as opposed to vans which are servicing Westhampton Road at this time. If you require anything else from me please call me at ex:1337. Thank you for your consideration on this matter. As required, the applicant has submitted a proposed location for a school bus shelter on the plans. This proposed new street will connect Glendale Road to Westhampton Road as shown on the attached PDF plan. The bus shelter is located near the intersection of the new street and Westhampton Road. I asked the applicant why this site was selected over a location near to Glendale Road. It does not appear that the applicant has had any conversation with you about this siting. The response was that they felt that it would be better on this end since there is a shelter at the Ridge Subdivision also off of Westhampton Road just west of this location. Could you please look at the attached plans and make sure that this bus stop location is the preferred location? Is it the appropriate side of the street or location along the street? Thanks very much. Regards, Carolyn Misch, AICP Senior Land Use Planner/Permits Manager 1
