Hello,
I’m writing to update you since we last met, and to let you know about the meetings coming up in June.
The City contracted with Berkshire Design to prepare a Master Plan and design options for the 24 acres of
active recreation fields and play areas on the Allard property. BD will be holding four different meetings, which
are below. The timeline is a bit aggressive, but we need to have certain items completed in time for some July
grant deadlines.
1. Allard Property Recreation Usage – Neighborhood Meeting (see attached), Wednesday, June 2,
2010, 7:00 p.m. at JFK Middle School Community Room;
The City of Northampton is working with Berkshire Design, Inc. to prepare design options for 24 acres of
recreation fields and play areas at the Allard Farm on the north side of Meadow Street in Florence. This
meeting is targeted to immediate neighbors (and notice is being mailed to all addresses of record within a ¼
mile of the site). There will be a second community-wide meeting in a few weeks, but it is important that we
hear from neighbors first.
2. Allard Bean Farm Task Force Meeting – Thursday, June 10, 2010, 9:00 a.m., City Council
Chambers –
We will review and discuss the neighborhood meeting comments and make any necessary changes or
suggestions for the Community-wide meeting.
3. Community-wide Meeting – Monday, June 28, 2010, 7:00 p.m., JFK Middle School Community
Room;
This meeting will be to gain more comments from the entire Community.
4. Allard Bean Farm Task Force Meeting – Tuesday, June 29, 2010, 9:00 a.m., City Council
Chambers
Pencil in this one, this meeting may be changed. It is to review the plan, discuss with Recreation Commission,
and make some decisions.
If you have any questions, please let me know, thanks,
Ann-Marie
