Gentleman: attached is an electronic version single sheet (U2) highlighted plan that shows all the utilities on the
site (same as plan L-6 issued to DPW on 9-24-2009), the extent of the BSG Phase I clean up area and all
BORINGS recorded for the site within Area 1&2.
Logs for each of these borings was previously submitted to DPW.
Please indicate if this satisfies your requirement before we complete the other plans.

Thanks Brian. I know that you provided much of the information, but the format DPW requested in September
was:
1.A single sheet with ALL of the public utilities on that sheet, showing their final location (sewer and
sanitary sharing a corridor), and showing all of the margins of the clean up and all of the borings (Bay
State Gases and the ones that OTO did for us) all on one sheet.
2.The same sheet or a separate sheet with all of the borings results shown.
3.The same sheet or a separate sheet with all of the construction details shown..
2
Thank you. They have committed to expedite their review as soon as we receive this information.

Shardool, in reference to the forwarded e-mail please see below:
Shardool”
Two issues I want to bring you up-to-date on.
First, we have had a couple of contacts recently that have made us nervous. Apparently someone is doing soil
borings on the property without, at least as far as I can tell, any access agreement or permission from us and
your contractor called DPW to ask permission to cut down some of the trees on the site. Soil borings were
conducted on site with an approved permit issued by DPW on 10-2-2009 (see attached file). No work was
performed without the proper authorization. The dig safe number is noted on the permit. In addition, no trees
were removed for this operation. We are fully aware that the proper permits must be secured prior to the
removal of existing trees and such permit will be in hand prior to the commencement of that particular activity.
Nothing can happen on the site until either we transfer the property or we sign a site-access agreement. Please
so notify your contractor. Our environmental attorney will be sending you a formal notice, but I wanted to give
you a heads up.

Second, as you know, DPW sent a clear email on September 18, 2009 on exactly what they need so that they
can act on the request for clean utility corridors. They have received some of this information, but not the full
package that DPW requested. Jim Laurila at DPW has committed to expediting his review once the plans come
in, but he cannot act until this information is provided, and so that is delaying the project.
1.The clean corridor plans and specifications do not show the detail that was requested. DPW needs
construction drawing level detail to show these critical details. Details for a clean corridor for each line type
were provided on seperate sheets. I will have these details incorporated onto the Berkshire plans.
2.The contaminated soil management plan was not submitted, nor were specifications to document what the
process is for determining what is contaminated. There needs to be a clear standard, even if that standard is
driven by odor. Section 01370 Odor Control Emissions and Section 02000 Soil & Material Management
specifications were sent with previous package. I will forward the project site remediation plan reviewed with
BSG under seperate cover by the end of the day.
3.The CCG plans now show clean corridor for the entire site - not just old MGP site. Is this correct? That is
a big change that we have not heard about before. We will modify plans to only include area of old MGP site.
CCG previously indicated worse case scenario to show overall potential impact to site.
4.The plans do not show the currently planned utilities, with the sewer and storm sewer still being the old
layout, and the different utilities are shown on different plans. We want final plans showing all of the work on
one sheet. A stamped final set of plans was issued to DPW on 9-24-2009. However, I will have Berkshire issue
an overall utility plan with each utility identified.
5.show the old layout). They have to approve the final plans. Final stamped civil Plans were submitted to
DPW on 9-24-2009
6.The final plans need to show all of the borings and clean fill area limits. All boring locations and data were
submitted by BSG. This information is typically not provided on plans but in report form as previously
submitted. Please advise.
