Sarah LaValley Re: 238 Glendale Road Dear Sarah, July 20, 2010 inspected the house, garage and barn at 238 Glendale Road at the request of the Department of Public Works. They have submitted a zoning permit application to allow demolition of all three structures. The assessor's database lists the house as being built prior to 1901. It is unremarkable, with a poured concrete foundation and stick -frame construction. The foundation appears to be original, and concrete foundations were not common until the 1920s. I see nothing to persuade me that the house is older than 1901 and nothing that would seem to make it historically significant. I have forwarded the permit application along with pictures of the house, barn and garage. Let me know what the commission thinks. Feel free to call if you have any questions.
