Dear Mr. Scheinman:
To my knowledge there have been no special permits issued within the URC district by the
Planning Board since 2000 for either funeral homes or scrap metal, motor vehicle accessories.
There may be permits that were issued prior to that time or there may be legal pre-existing non-
conforminguses that exist in the URC that fall within these two categories.
If you are interested in determining all such special permits prior to 2000 that may have been
issued, you maybe able to ascertain this by obtaining the tax codes for such uses from the City's
Tax Assessor and then determe where those uses (if any) exist within the URC district and search
the register of deeds (or our historic permit records on-line) to determine if special permits were
issued on those properties. _
Alternatively, if you would like to file a public records request you may do that. This would
entail staff going through every record in our office to make a determination whether permits
that you are seeking were ever issued. If you do submit such request and upon its receipt; we
would have to determine the appropriate cost to allocate for the staff time that is required of a
time-intensive search of this nature.
Regards,
Carolyn Misch, AICP
